Candle Care Tips

Candles are the perfect finishing touch to any home's decor; not just because of their wonderful aroma, but also because of the comforting candlelight they cast. We've compiled 5 best candle care suggestions to help you get the most out of your candles.

  • Always burn your candle for at least 3 hours to allow the melt pool to reach all edges of the candle.
  • Remember to remove the tip of the wick in between each burn, ensuring that it isn’t longer than 5mm.
  • Avoid placing your candle in a draughty area whilst lit as this will cause it to burn quicker.
  • Make sure you don’t burn your candle for longer than 3-4 hours at a time.

Burn tips:

TIP 1: The first burn is the most important. Always burn your candle for at least 3 hours to allow the melt pool to reach all edges of the candle. This avoids a ‘tunnel’ effect running down the centre of your candle.

TIP 2: Trim the wick in between each burn. It's critical to keep the wicks trimmed. Trimming the wicks will keep your candle from producing black soot and will extend the life of your candle.

Tip 3: If you cannot smell the aroma, it means that the container is too small for the space. Consider lighting a couple of candles in one room to boost the aroma.

TIP 4: Avoid placing your candle in a draughty area whilst lit. A common mistake is windowsills and open windows. The flame will consume the wax at a faster rate as a result, and your candle will not burn as long as it should.

TIP 5: Don’t burn for longer than 3-4 hours at a time, this could cause the glass to get hot.

Safety first, always.

Happiness is the smell of a scented candle.
